Instrument Lab

Develop your unique musical skills while also collaborating with another student to build your musical community. Our 2 student lab classes combine the the individuality of private lessons with the collaborative joys of group classes. Each session includes one on one instruction, a song writing/music technology lab, and a collaborative component where students create or share music with each other.

Sample Schedule

Warm Up (Combined) ~5-10 minutes:

Students are led through joint stretches, technique building exercises, jamming, a combined song, and more. The goal is to focus the students and prepare them for the upcoming lesson.

One on One Time (other student working on song writing/technology) ~20minutes:

Individual student focus on the skills and songs that they are interested in. This portion of the Lab is crafted to fit the specific interests and needs of the student.

Song Writing/Music Technology Lab (other student has one on one time~20 minutes:

Refine musical skills and creativity through the use of technology. Students will be assigned tasks to complete such as writing/recording/mixing a song in garage band, completing music theory based trials such as reading note names or ear training, using apps to refine their technique or learn a song, and more.

Collaborative Component (Combined)~10-15 minutes :

Time for students to work together and share. Activities range from playing song together, creating a song together, sharing and providing constructive feedback for songs they have written, sharing music that they enjoy, and more.

Rates and Scheduling

60 minute Labs are scheduled based on teacher and student availability as well as student ability, interests, and needs.

Instrument Lab sessions are $50 per person per session.
